Kate BerardoKate founded Culturosity in 2003 to help individuals create lifestyles that support their global skills development and intercultural growth and experience. Kate believes that the ability to work across cultures is an already important assest that will become a prerequisite for future generations working in our increasingly global world.

Kate  is a consultant, facilitator, and coach who helps individuals and organizations to be more effective at a global level. Her core competencies include strategic leadership development, diverse teambuilding, international transitions, and global skill building and her experience spans working in over eighteen countries with individuals from roughly fifty nations.

Kate runs her own business and also partners with select intercultural management and leadership development firms to deliver impact in industries including pharmaceutical, bio tech, high tech, energy, education, automotive, banking, manufacturing, media and communications. She engages at all organizational levels, from staff to senior executives, to reduce miscommunication, build trust, and increase effectiveness.  

Kate is continually involved in the design and development of effective learning tools and is a frequent presenter at international conferences on the dynamics of culture and leadership in organizations. Her best-known research has focused on profiling the intercultural field as well as debunking the popular U-curve model of adjustment. She is the co-author of Building Cultural Competence: Innovative Frameworks and Activities (Stylus, 2012), Putting Diversity to Work: How to Successfully Lead a Diverse Workforce (Crisp, 2003), Cultural Detective® Self-Discovery and Cultural Detective® Bridging Cultures.

In 2003, Kate founded the website Culturosity.com to help build awareness of cultural differences. She holds a distinguished Masters in Intercultural Communication from the University of Bedfordshire, UK and is a summa cum laude graduate of Northwestern University in the US. She is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, ArgonautOnline,™ the International Profiler™, GlobeSmart® 5.0 and the Cultural Detective®. She has been a member of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research for over 10 years. Her work has been the subject of media worldwide, including CNN's Business Traveler and the Dubai daily Gulf News.

Kate has lived in the U.S., United Kingdom, Japan, France, Spain, and Denmark. She is currently based in the Bay Area of California.
